This article contains links to information that help you plan capacity for Duet Enterprise for Microsoft SharePoint and SAP.

Plan capacity

The capacity limits and recommended practices for Duet Enterprise for Microsoft SharePoint and SAP are the same as they are for Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010. To plan capacity for Duet Enterprise, you can use the capacity planning documentation that is available for SharePoint Server 2010. For more information, see Capacity planning for SharePoint Server 2010 (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkId=200858) and Performance and capacity management (SharePoint Server 2010) (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkID=108998).

Plan capacity for collaboration sites

The recommended maximum number of site collections per Web application for SharePoint Server 2010 is 250,000. The recommended maximum number of collaboration sites that can be created in a site collection with Duet Enterprise is 25,000.

When you create site collections and subsite workspaces by using the Duet Enterprise Customers site template or the Duet Enterprise Products site template, performance can degrade if the number of site collections that are created in a single site collection is too great.

For guidelines about how to create a large number of workspaces that provide good user experience and good performance, see the “Business Connectivity Services performance-related recommendations” section in Estimate performance and capacity requirements for Microsoft Business Connectivity Services in SharePoint Server 2010. This section provides performance recommendations for using external lists, list views, and profile pages, and provides general performance recommendations for Business Connectivity Services.
