Publishing SharePoint sites for SharePoint Workspace Mobile
Updated: February 1, 2011
Applies To: Unified Access Gateway
Microsoft SharePoint Workspace Mobile 2010 is a rich client application that allows mobile devices to edit Microsoft Office documents on the mobile device. To allow mobile devices to use SharePoint Workspace Mobile you must publish a Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 application through Forefront Unified Access Gateway (UAG).
This topic describes how to publish the SharePoint 2010 application. For information about other SharePoint publishing topologies, see SharePoint publishing solution guide.
On the Forefront UAG server, publish the SharePoint application according to your required topology. See SharePoint publishing topologies.
In the Forefront UAG Management console, click the published SharePoint application and click Edit.
On the Application Properties dialog box, click the Portal Link tab.
On the Portal Link tab, select the Allow rich clients to bypass trunk authentication check box.
You do not need to select the Use Office Forms Based Authentication for Office client applications check box because mobile clients use basic authentication.
Make sure that you have configured mobile access to Forefront UAG as described in Configuring Forefront UAG for mobile browsing.
Activate the configuration.
