Decommissioning Servers and Pools (Office Communications Server 2007)

Lync Server 2010

Topic Last Modified: 2012-10-18

For details about removing and decommissioning Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 Standard Edition or Enterprise Edition servers and pools, see http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkId=206788. This webpage provides instructions for the following:

  • Removing servers and server roles
  • Removing an Enterprise pool
  • Decommissioning Standard Edition servers and Enterprise pools
importantImportant:
Lync Web App does not support instant messaging (IM) and presence. If you plan to reinstall Office Communicator Web Access (2007 release) to support IM and presence, it is important that you do not run the Unprep step during decommissioning to remove objects and attributes from Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS). Active Directory schema for Office Communicator 2007 is a prerequisite for deploying Office Communicator Web Access (2007 release).
