FOPE 11.1 New Features
Applies to: Office 365 for professionals and small businesses, Office 365 for enterprises, Live@edu, Forefront Online Protection for Exchange
Topic Last Modified: 2012-03-01
The new connector features in Microsoft® Forefront® Online Protection for Exchange (FOPE) 11.1 and FOPE in Microsoft Office 365 provide enhanced functionality and flexibility that help you route messages in new ways depending on your organization’s requirements. The features include the following:
More control of email routing to enable cross-premises scenarios, including the outbound smart host scenario. In this scenario, FOPE acts as a smart host, redirecting outbound email to an on-premises server that applies additional processing before delivering the email to its final destination.
The ability to configure FOPE to skip IP address filtering on inbound email sent from IP addresses specified in a safe list.
Several forced Transport Layer Security (TLS) options for securing all email routing channels (inbound and outbound) with business regulated partners.
Delegated administration experience that allows third-parties to manage FOPE for your company. For more information, see Understanding the Advanced Tab.
