Get Disk

The Get Disk object is used to retrieve an existing virtual disk based on the filters that you specify.

For the procedure to configure this object, see Configuring the Get Disk Object.

The following tables list the properties and published data for this object. The object publishes all of the data from the required and optional properties into published data.

The name of the virtual disk drive

The unique identifier (GUID) of the virtual machine for which the virtual disk was created

Configuring the Get Disk Object

To configure the Get Disk object

  1. From the Objects window, drag a Get Disk object to the active Policy window. Double-click the Get Disk object icon.

  2. Click the Filters tab.

  3. In the Configuration section, click the ellipsis button (...), and select the Name of the Virtual Machine Manager computer that you want to connect to with this object. Click OK.

  4. In the Filters section, at least one filter is required to define the object. Click Add. In the Name box, click the down arrow and select an item from the list.

  5. In the Relation box, click the down arrow and select a relationship descriptor for the filter.

  6. In the Value box, click the ellipsis button (...) and select a value to be applied to this filter. If the ellipsis button (...) does not appear for the filter you have selected, enter the value you want to use. Click OK.

  7. Add additional filters as needed, and then click Finish.

  8. To make changes to a filter, click the filter and then click Edit. Make the necessary changes, and then click OK. To remove a filter, click the filter, and then click Remove.
