Deploy Additional Clients

Applies To: Opalis 6.3

The Deployment Manager enables you to deploy multiple Opalis clients in a single operation.

To deploy a new client

  1. In the Management Server pane (on the left side), expand Management Server until the Clients item is visible.

  2. Right-click Clients and click Deploy New Client. The Client Deployment dialog box appears.

  3. Click Next. In the Computer box, type the name of the computer where the new client will be deployed, or click the ellipsis button (...) and browse for it.

  4. Click Add. The computer appears in the list. Repeat this step to add additional computers on which you want to deploy clients.

  5. Click Next. The Integration Pack or Hotfix Deployment dialog box appears. If you have previously registered integration packs or hotfixes with a management server and you want to deploy them to the new clients, select the check box for each item that you want to deploy.

  6. Click Next. The Completing Client Deployment Wizard dialog box appears.

  7. Click Finish. The wizard deploys the new clients and any integration packs or hotfixes that you selected.

To run the client update

  1. After you deploy the clients from the Deployment Manager, copy the OpalisIntegrationServer_Client_630_PATCH.msp file included in the 6.3 release to each client.

  2. Run the OpalisIntegrationServer_Client_630_PATCH.msp installer. Do not change any of the default values.
