Lync Server 2010

Topic Last Modified: 2011-01-31

The Lync Server 2010 Admin simple URL enables quick access to the Lync Server 2010 Control Panel. From any computer within your organization’s firewalls, an administrator can open the Lync Server Control Panel by typing the Admin simple URL into a browser. The Admin simple URL is internal to your organization. An example of the Admin simple URL is https://admin.contoso.net. When modifying the topology exported from the Planning Tool into Topology Builder, an update to the Admin simple URL is optional.

To configure the Administration URL
  1. Start Topology Builder: Click Start, click All Programs, click Microsoft Lync Server 2010, and then click Lync Server Topology Builder.

  2. From Topology Builder and with the Redmond.tbxml open from the previous procedure, right-click the top node Lync Server 2010, and then click Edit Properties.

  3. Scroll down to Simple URLs, and then enter the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of the Administrative access URL.

    Topology Builder edit simple URLs

  4. Click OK to close the Edit Properties window.
