\"Failure: The SQL Server '{0}' is unavailable\" error message when you try to create an organization

You may receive this error message when you try to create an organization by using the Deployment Manager.

This issue may occur when you have configured the default security policy by using the Security Configuration Wizard on on the computer where the instance of SQL Server is running that maintains the configuration database.

To work around this issue, turn on network discovery on the computer where the instance of SQL Server is running.

Turn on network discovery

  1. Start Control Panel, and then click Network and Sharing Center.
  2. Click Change advanced sharing settings.
  3. Expand Domain, and in the Network discovery area, click Turn on network discovery.
  4. Click Save Changes.
