Grouping Formats (Project Server 2010 settings)

Applies to: Project Server 2010

Topic Last Modified: 2011-04-13

You can change how rows (or levels) of information appear when task and resource information is grouped in the Project Center, Resource Center, Project, Task, Timesheet, and Assignment views in Microsoft Project Web App. By changing the appearance of these grouping levels, you can highlight specific information for your team members.

To change the appearance of grouping levels

  1. On the Quick Launch, in the Settings section, click Server Settings.

  2. On the Server Settings page, in the Look and Feel section, click Grouping Formats. A list of grouping formats appears.

  3. In the Grouping format list, above the table, select the grouping level that you want to format. This updates the table and narrows which levels are displayed.

  4. To rename the selected grouping level, click Rename.

Type the new name in the New name for the grouping format box, and then click OK.

If you do not want to rename the selected grouping level, skip this step.

  5. Use the lists in the Cell Color, Font Color, and Font Style columns to define the appearance of each grouping level.

  6. Click Save, at the bottom of the page.

After you have created a format for grouped task or resource information, you apply the formatting when a new view is created or modified. See Manage Views (Project Server 2010 settings) for more information.
