Configuring Channel Servers Settings

To configure Channel Server settings, in Microsoft Lync Server 2010, Group Chat Configuration tool, click the Channel Servers tab in the System Wide view.

This tab contains the following settings:

  • Server Throttle Settings Identifies the chat room participants size where the active participant list updates to clients are turned off.

    Note

    Active updates are automatically turned on when the number of participants falls to 80% of the value entered.

To throttle the Channel Server settings

  1. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Lync Server 2010 Group Chat.

  2. Open the Microsoft Lync Server 2010, Group Chat Configuration tool.

  3. On the File menu, click Configure Server Settings.

  4. On the left side of the console tree, click System Wide, and then click the Channel Servers tab.

  5. Enter a number of chat room participants.

  6. Click OK.
