Choose a map style

You can choose a map style from different locations within MapPoint, including:

  • Use the map style menu on the Advanced toolbar.

    – or –

  • Use the map style menu on the Map settings pane.

    – or –

  • On the Tools menu, click Options, click the Map tab, and in the Map style list, select a map style.

The name of the current map style appears in the list box.

Click one of the following from the Map style list:

Road map

Use this map style if you want a conventional road map with detailed information about roads, highways, towns, and cities.

Road and data map

Use this map style if you want your map to display roads, highways, towns, cities, and your mapped data. The road and data map has fewer labels than the road map.

Data map

Use this map style if you want your map to display towns, cities, and your mapped data. The data map provides minimal labeling.

Terrain map

Use this map style if you want your map to display roads, highways, towns, cities, and geographic terrain.

Political map

Use this map style if you want your map to display roads, highways, towns, cities, and major political boundaries.

Road map (night)

Use this map style if you want a conventional road map that you can view in low light conditions, such as when using the navigation feature at night.
