Importing a Configuration Item

This section provides instructions for importing a configuration item. For example, you can get the latest configuration item for your devices from the device manufacturer’s website and import it using the following procedure.

To import a configuration item

  1. In Configuration Manager console, in the left pane, expand Site Database, expand Computer Management, expand Embedded Device Management, expand Device Configuration, and then click Configuration Items.

  2. In the right pane, click Import Configuration Item.

  3. On the File Open page, select the XML file to which the configuration item imports, and then click Open. For more information about XML files, see Configuration Item XML Files.
