Disable server backup
Updated: March 30, 2011
You should protect your server and its data automatically by scheduling daily backups. It is recommended that you maintain a daily backup plan because most organizations cannot afford to lose the data that has been created over several days. However, you can disable Windows® Home Server 2011 server backup if you are using a third-party application to back up the server.
To disable server backup
Log on to the Windows® Home Server 2011 Dashboard using the server password that was set up during initial configuration of the server.
Click the Computers and Backup tab, and then click the name of the server.
In the Task pane, click Customize Backup for the server.
The Customize Server Backup wizard starts.
On the Configuration Options page, click Disable Server Backup. Follow the instructions in the wizard.
