Use this procedure to export publications so that they can be imported into another Updates Publisher 2011 repository. Updates Publisher 2011 uses the Export Software Updates Catalog Wizard to export publications.

To export publications

  1. In the Updates Publisher 2011 console, click Publications. The Publications workspace is displayed in the navigation pane in the console.

  2. Select the publication that you want to export.

  3. To remove a software update from the publication before the publication is exported, on the Home tab, select the software updates to remove, and then click Remove.

  4. To export the publication, on the Home tab, click Export.

  5. On the Destination page, specify the location where the catalog file that contains the exported software updates is stored, for example, C:/MyCatalogs.MyCatalog.cab.

  6. If the publication has dependent software updates that must also be exported, select Include dependent software updates when exporting selected software updates.

  7. Click Next.

  8. Review the details of the software updates to be exported, and then click Next to export the software updates to the catalog.

  9. Click Close to exit the wizard.
