How to Start the Orchestration Console

Applies To: Orchestrator 2012 Release Candidate

Use the following steps to start the Orchestration console from a browser and from the Runbook Designer.

To start the Orchestration console from a browser

  1. To open a browser session, click Start, point to All Programs, and then click Internet Explorer.

  2. In the browser address box, type https://<computer name>:<port number>.

    For the computer name, use the one where the web services were installed.

    For the port number, specify the port number selected during web service configuration. The default port number is 82.

    If you use the default port number, the browser address box would look as follows.

    https://<computer name>:82

    Warning

    During web service configuration, if you specified a different port number than the default port number 82, then the port number in the browser address field would have to be that specified port number.

To start the Orchestration console from the Runbook Designer

  1. If this is the first time you are starting the Orchestration console from the Runbook Designer, do the following configuration steps.

    1. On the Runbook Designer menu above the toolbar, click Options, and then select Orchestration Console.

    2. On the Options tab, in the URL box, type https://<computer name>:<port number>.

      For the computer name, use the one where the web services were installed.

      For the port number, specify the port number selected during web service configuration. The default port number is 82.

      If you use the default port number, the configuration box would look as follows.

      https://<computer name>:82

      Warning

      During web service configuration, if you specified a different port number than the default port number 82, then the port number in the URL box would have to be that specified port number.

    3. Click Finish.

  2. To start the Orchestration console, go to the Runbook Designer menu above the tool bar, click Orchestration Console.
