The Certification Authority component cannot be configured

Updated: May 26, 2011

Applies To: Windows Small Business Server 2011 Standard

Due to the number of complex product interactions and dependent tasks related to the failure in configuring the Certification Authority component, manual steps to recover from this failure cannot be provided at this time.

You might be able to solve the problem by running the Fix My Network Wizard.

noteNote
You must be a network administrator to complete this procedure.

To run the Fix My Network Wizard

  1. Open the Windows SBS Console.

  2. On the navigation bar, click the Network tab, and then click Connectivity.

  3. In the Task pane, click Fix my network.

  4. Follow the instructions in the wizard.

If the Fix My Network Wizard does not resolve this issue, perform the following steps to recover the server:

  1. Restore the source domain from a backup, as described in the guide that applies to your source domain.

  2. After you restore the source domain, reinstall Windows SBS 2011 Standard as described in the guide that applies to your migration.

You can also contact Microsoft Product Support to receive support in isolating the source of the failure so that you can correct it before restarting the migration process.
