Create or edit a sales quotation

You can use the Create sales quotation and Edit sales quotation pages to create or edit sales quotations.

Note

To convert a sales quotation to a sales order, you must use the Microsoft Dynamics AX client.

You can create a sales quotation from either the Sales quotations or Customers page.

Create a sales quotation from the Sales quotations page

  1. Click Sales on the top link bar, and then click Quotations on the Quick Launch.

  2. On the Action Pane, on the Quotation tab, in the New group, click Sales quotation.

  3. On the Sales quotation FastTab, enter or select the sales prospect or customer to create the sales quotation for.

  4. Enter or select the invoice information, such as the contact person, currency, and language.

  5. On the Lines FastTab, click Add line.

  6. Select an item and enter a quantity, and then select inventory dimension information, if it is required. Click the Insert icon to add the item to the quotation.

    Note

    If your company uses the Product Builder module or the Product Configurator module and you select an item that has been set up as a modeling-enabled item in the Microsoft Dynamics AX client, you must select the Configure line icon and select additional configuration information for the item.

  7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 to add more items to the quotation.

  8. On the Delivery address FastTab, enter the delivery address details.

  9. Enter or select the recipient name, expiration date, and quotation type.

  10. Click Save and close to create and display the quotation.

Create a sales quotation from the Customers page

  1. Click Sales on the top link bar, and then click Customers on the Quick Launch.

  2. Select the customer to create a sales quotation for.

  3. On the Action Pane, on the Sell tab, in the New group, click Sales quotation.

  4. On the Sales quotation FastTab, enter or select the invoice information, such as the contact person, currency, and language.

  5. On the Lines FastTab, click Add line to add a line item to the quotation.

  6. In the Delivery address section, enter the delivery address details.

  7. Select an item and inventory dimension information, if it is required. Enter a quantity and then click the Insert icon for the line.

    Note

    If your company uses the Product Builder module or the Product Configurator module and you select an item that has been set up as a modeling-enabled item in the Microsoft Dynamics AX client, dialog boxes might be displayed, where you must select additional configuration information for the item.

  8. Repeat steps 7 and 8 to add more items to the quotation.

  9. Click Save and close to create the quotation.

Edit a sales quotation

  1. Click Sales on the top link bar, and then click Quotations on the Quick Launch.

  2. Select the quotation to modify. On the Action Pane, on the Quotation tab, in the Maintain group, click Edit.

  3. Make any changes to the quotation or line information. Click the Update icon for each line that you change.

  4. Click Save and close to save the changes.
