(PM) Inventory and warehouse management parameters (form)

Click Inventory management > Setup > Inventory and warehouse management parameters.

Use this form to set up inventory and warehouse management parameters. The parameters are grouped on tabs according to their overall use. You can use these parameters to perform various tasks, including the following:

  • Choose between two or more different types of functionality.

  • Enter default information to be used if the information has not been specified at a lower level.

  • Define the parameters for product compliance.

  • Define default criterion for commodity pricing templates and pricing calculations.

  • Select number sequences for a section.

Catch weight journal

Select a default journal name for catch weight journals.

Override FEFO date control

Specify if the FEFO date control should be disregarded for transfer orders. The default setting allows shelf life dates to be ignored when issuing transfer orders. However, you can override the default by clearing the Override FEFO date control check box in the Transfer orders form.

Update inventory batch attribute

Select this check box to update batch attributes for an inventory batch with the test line results from a quality order.

Administrator user ID

Select the user identification for the product compliance administrator. This individual will receive notifications based on the alerts you select on the Product compliance tab.

Validity in days

Enter the default number of days that product safety data sheets are valid from their approval date.

Expiry advice in days

Enter the number of days before a product safety data sheet expires that users should be notified of the upcoming expiration. For example, if you want to notify users 15 days before the document expires, enter 15 in this field.

Start date

Select the starting date for calculating the annual quantities produced and used. This date is used in usage data in the Reporting details form.

End date

Select the ending date for calculating the annual quantities produced and used. This date is used in usage data in the Reporting details form.

Sales order entry

Select this check box to issue a warning when a user enters or modifies a sales order line and the product safety data sheet is either expired or was never sent to the customer.

Purchase order entry

Select this check box to issue a warning when a user enters a purchase order line and the product safety data sheet is either expired or was never sent to the vendor.

Sales pack slip/Invoice posting

Select this check box to issue a warning when a user posts a sales packing slip or invoice, and the product safety data sheet is either expired or was never sent to the customer.

Print product safety data sheet

Select this check box to print a product safety data sheet if one was never sent to the customer. This document is printed at the same time as the sales packing slip is printed.

Note

If an effective product safety data sheet is not available for the current date, the most recently expired document is printed. Documents are printed with the invoice only if the packing slip posting was skipped.

Prevent sales pack slip/invoice posting

Select this check box to prevent posting of the sales packing slip or invoice if the product safety data sheet is expired. Invoice posting is prevented only if the product safety data sheet has expired and the sales packing slip posting was skipped.

Effective date basis

Select the basis for the effective date of a product safety data sheet that is associated with a sales order or a purchase order. The following options are available:

  • Current date — Process management uses the product safety data sheet that is in effect on the date where the sales order or the purchase order is entered as the active document.

  • Delivery date — Process management uses the product safety data sheet that is in effect on the requested delivery date for the sales order or the purchase order as the active document. This is the date on which the sales order or the purchase order is expected to ship.

Note

For alerts related to packing slip postings, the date on which the packing slip is printed is used as the effective date basis.

Mandatory reason

Select this check box to require entry of a reason whenever a user modifies a product safety data sheet.

Expiry in sales

Select this check box to notify the Product compliance administrator of an expired product safety data sheet that is discovered during the entry of a sales order line or the posting of a packing slip.

Expiry advice interval in sales

Select this check box to notify the Product compliance administrator of a product safety data sheet that is within its expiry advice period during the entry of a sales order line or the posting of a packing slip.

Expiry in purchase

Select this check box to alert the Product compliance administrator of an expired product safety data sheet that is discovered during the entry of a purchase order line.

Expiry advice interval in purchase

Select this check box to warn the Product compliance administrator of a product safety data sheet that is within its expiry advice period during the entry of a purchase order line.

Cost basis type

Select the cost basis type to use as the default for new pricing runs.

Pricing template

Select the pricing template to use as the default when you initiate a pricing and margin update.

Keep BOM/Formula calculations

Select this check box to store calculation results from a commodity pricing and margin update run. You can view the results using the Calculation button in the Price margin update lines form. The results are retained until the price and margin update run is deleted.

Price/discount agreement

Select the price/discount agreement journal to use as the default. Information is copied to this journal when the pricing information is updated for commodity pricing items and the updated lines are processed during the standard trade agreement posting process. Base reference depth

Enter the maximum number of base item references allowed in the commodity pricing data. For example, one item references a base item that in turn references a base item, and so on.

Dimension set

Select a dimension set to use as the default for the price margin update lines. These lines are the result of the commodity price calculation and can be updated in the trade agreements.
