Rule Name

Outlook Web App failed to initialize. No default theme was found. Review MSExchangeOWA event 107 for the cause.

Explanation

This Error event indicates that Microsoft Office Outlook Web App did not start. This event may occur if the following conditions are true:

  • The Outlook Web App themeinfo.xml file that is stored in the themes folder that is referenced in the event description contains no contents.

  • The required XML element ("theme") is missing from the file.

The default location of the themes folder is C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\ClientAccess\Owa\<version>\.

User Action

To resolve this problem, replace the themes folder and the default subfolders by using the files and folders that are located on the Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 DVD. By default, those files and folders are located in the \Setup\ServerRoles\ClientAccess\owa\<version>\ folder of the Exchange 2010 DVD.
