Uninstall Feature Pack 1 for Duet Enterprise 1.0

This article describes how to uninstall Feature Pack 1 for Duet Enterprise 1.0.

To uninstall Feature Pack 1 for Duet Enterprise 1.0, deactivate the Aggregated Business Calendar feature, retract the solutions that comprise the Feature Pack 1 from the solution store of the Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 farm, and then use Windows PowerShell to remove the solution packages of Feature Pack 1.

Delete Web Parts

To remove calendar Web Parts that you have added to sites, you must delete the Web Parts or delete the site. The Web Parts will not function after the solution has been retracted. Follow the steps in the Retract language solutions and Retract OBAExtensions solution sections later in this article to retract the solution.

Use this procedure to remove the Web Parts from the Web Part Gallery for a particular site collection.

To delete Web Parts

  1. You must be a site collection administrator to perform these steps.

  2. In a browser, go to the top-level site in the site collection from which you want to delete the Web Part.

  3. On the Site Actions menu, click Site Settings.

  4. In the Galleries, click Web parts.

  5. Click the check box next to OBABusinessCalendar.webpart.

  6. In the Manage group of the ribbon, click Delete.

  7. Click OK in the dialog box that appears.

Deactivate the Aggregated Business Calendar feature

Use this procedure to deactivate the Aggregated Business Calendar feature.

To deactivate the Aggregated Business Calendar feature

  1. You must be a site collection administrator to perform these steps.

  2. In a browser, go to the top-level site in the site collection from which you want to deactivate the Aggregated Business Calendar feature.

  3. On the Site Actions menu, click Site Settings.

  4. In the Site Collection Administration section, click Site collection features.

  5. On the Features page, in the Aggregated Business Calendar row, click Deactivate.

Retract language solutions

Before retracting the core solution file (OBAExtensions.wsp) you must retract any language solutions that were deployed for the solution.

To retract language solutions

  1. You must be a member of the Farm Administrators group to perform this procedure.

  2. In the Central Administration Web Site, on the Quick Launch, click System Settings.

  3. In the Farm Management section, click Manage farm solutions.

  4. On the Solution Management page, in the Name column, click the language solution that you want to retract.

    The language solutions names are in the form of obaextensions(<LanguageID>), where <LanguageID> is the four digit Language ID of the language solution.

  5. On the Solution Properties page, click Retract Solution.

  6. On the Retract Solution page, in the Retract When? Section, select one of the following:

    • Now

    • At a specific time

      If this option is chosen, select the time for which you want the solution retracted.

  7. Click OK.

    The Status column for the solution you retracted shows Retracting. After the solution is retracted, the status changes to Not Deployed.

    You might need to refresh the page.

Retract OBAExtensions solution

Use this procedure to retract the OBAExtensions solution.

To retract OBAExtension solution

  1. You must be a member of the Farm Administrators group to perform this procedure.

  2. In the Central Administration Web Site, on the Quick Launch, click System Settings.

  3. In the Farm Management section, click Manage farm solutions.

  4. On the Solution Management page, in the Name column, click the OBAExtensions.wsp solution.

  5. On the Solution Properties page, click Retract Solution.

  6. On the Retract Solution page, in the Retract When? section, select one of the following:

    • Now

    • At a specific time

      If this option is chosen, select the time for which you want the solution retracted.

  7. Click OK.

    The Status column for the solution you retracted shows Retracting. After the solution is retracted, the status changes to Not Deployed.

    Note

    You might need to refresh the page.

  8. If the OBAExtensionSDK solution was deployed, repeat steps 3 through 7 to retract the OBAExtensionsSDK solution.

Remove the language files for obaextensions.wsp solution packages

Use this procedure to remove language files for obaextensions.wsp solution packages.

To remove the language files for obaextensions.wsp solution packages

  1. Start the SharePoint 2010 Management Shell.

  2. In SharePoint 2010 Management Shell, type the following and then press Enter.

    Remove-SPSolution -Identity <SolutionName.wsp> -Language <LanguageID>
    

    Where <SolutionName.wsp> is the name of the language-specific solution that you want to remove, and <Language ID> is the Language ID of the language solution.

  3. Type A and then press Enter to confirm that you want to proceed.

  4. When the command prompt returns, repeat steps 2 through 3 for all additional language solutions that you want to remove.

Remove the obaextensions.wsp solution package

Follow these steps to remove the obaextensions.wsp solution package.

To remove the obaextensions.wsp solution package

  1. Verify that you have the following administrative credentials:

    • You must be a member of the Farm Administrators group to uninstall Duet Enterprise solutions from SharePoint Server 2010.
  2. Start the SharePoint 2010 Management Shell.

    1. On the Start menu, click All Programs.

    2. Click Microsoft SharePoint 2010 Products.

    3. Right-click SharePoint 2010 Management Shell and then click Run as administrator.

  3. In SharePoint 2010 Management Shell, type the following and then press Enter.

    Remove-SPSolution -Identity obaextensions.wsp
    
  4. Type A and then press Enter to confirm that you want to proceed.

    The command is complete when the command prompt returns.

    Note

    If the error message “The solution “<solutionName.wsp”> has been deployed in the farm. Please retract the deployment before removing the solution.” appears, the solution that you attempted to remove is still deployed in the farm. Follow the steps in the Retract language solutions and Retract OBAExtensions solution sections earlier in this article to retract the solution and then repeat steps 3 and 4.

Remove the obaextensionssdk.wsp solution package

Follow these steps to remove the obaextensionssdk.wsp (English Lanaguage) solution package.

To remove the obaextensionssdk.wsp solution package

  1. Start the SharePoint 2010 Management Shell.

  2. In SharePoint 2010 Management Shell, type the following and then press Enter.

    Remove-SPSolution -Identity obaextensionssdk.wsp
    
  3. Type A and then press Enter to confirm that you want to proceed.

Verify that the solutions have been removed

After the solutions have been removed, they will not appear on the Solution Management page.

To verify that the solutions have been removed

  1. In the Central Administration Web Site, on the Quick Launch, click System Settings.

  2. In the Farm Management section, click Manage farm solutions.

  3. On the Solution Management page, verify that the solutions you removed are not listed in the Name column.

Delete the Time BDC model

Use this procedure to delete the Time BDC model.

To delete the Time BDC model

  1. Verify that you have one of the following administrative credentials:

    • You must be a member of the Farm Administrators group.

    • You must be an administrator of the Business Data Connectivity service application and have Edit permission on the model.

  2. On the Central Administration Web site, on the Quick Launch, click Application Management.

  3. In the Service Applications section, click Manage service applications.

  4. In the list of service applications, click the Business Data Connectivity Service application link.

  5. In the View group of the ribbon, select BDC Models from the list.

  6. Select the check box next to the BDC model named Time.

  7. In the BDC Models section of the ribbon, click Delete.

  8. Click OK in the dialog box that appears.

    Note

    Deleting the Time BDC model also deletes the Time external content type but does not remove the Duet Enterprise Calendar (OBABusinessCalendar.webpart) Web Part.
