Publishing SharePoint 2010 with Office Web Apps

Applies To: Unified Access Gateway

This topic describes how to make sure that you can successfully publish Office Web Apps in SharePoint 2010 through Forefront Unified Access Gateway (UAG).

In some cases, when you try to view an Excel 2010 spreadsheet using View in browser, you may see one of the following errors: “This workbook cannot be opened because it is not stored in an Excel Services Application trusted location.”, “You do not have permissions to open this file in the browser.”

To resolve this error, you should add the SharePoint 2010 Alternate Address Mapping (AAM) that you use in Forefront UAG for the SharePoint 2010 application to the Excel Trusted Location.

To add the AAM to the Excel Trusted Location

  1. On your SharePoint 2010 server, go to Central Administration/Manage Service Application/Excel Services Application/Trusted File Locations.

  2. Click Add Trusted File Location.

  3. In Address, enter the Forefront UAG public host name for the SharePoint 2010 application.

  4. For further configuration information, see Manage Excel Services trusted locations (SharePoint Server 2010).
