Localizing Static Content in Site Variations
After you set up the site variations, you must modify the static content contained in the starter site's XSLT files and pages and perform required updates to the Web Parts for each locale to reflect the correct URL paths, text, and translations. You can also set the Channel Configuration for each site variation to use a different channel and product catalog or to create a different set of pricing rules or other catalog-related rules for a particular site variation.
