Restore Databases and Site Code

After you have set up your environment for Microsoft Commerce Server 2009 R2, you can restore the databases and site code that you backed up earlier.

  1. Restore your Commerce Server databases and resources.

You can use the Commerce Server Site Packager to unpack and restore your Commerce Server databases and resources. If you are migrating from Commerce Server 2000 or Commerce Server 2002, make sure you review the information in Data Migration for Commerce Server 2000/2002 to understand which resources are still supported in Commerce Server 2009 R2.

For more information on how to unpack a site using Site Packager, see How to Unpack a Site.

  2. Restore your site code and convert to Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 or Visual Studio 2010.

You can upgrade your site project to Visual Studio 2008 or Visual Studio 2010 from Visual Studio 2005. For more information, see https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=196552.

The site code will require a rewrite to make calls to the upgraded API.
