How to Remove Commerce Server 2009 R2 Components

To uninstall Commerce Server 2009 R2 components, complete the following procedures in the order shown:

  1. Remove the Web Business Management Tools

  2. Remove the Commerce Server Run-time Objects and Administrative Tools

  3. Remove the Commerce Server Client Tools

Remove the Web Business Management Tools

Follow these steps to delete one or more Commerce Server databases from SQL Server.

To remove the Commerce Server Business Management Tools

  1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.

  2. In Control Panel, under Programs, click Uninstall a program.

  3. On the Uninstall or change a program page, click Microsoft Commerce Server Business User Applications, and then click Change/Remove next to this program.

  4. On the Program Maintenance page of the Commerce Server Installation Wizard, select Remove, and then click Next.

  5. On the Summary page, click Uninstall.

    The Installation Progress dialog box shows details of the removal operations.

  6. On the Uninstall Completed page, click Finish.

Remove the Commerce Server Run-Time Objects and Administrative Tools

Use the following procedure to uninstall the Commerce Server 2009 R2 components. These steps do not remove the SharePoint Commerce Services (Solution Storefront or Web Parts) that you may have deployed in SharePoint. Uninstalling Commerce Server 2009 R2 does not remove security updates for Silverlight or SharePoint. It will not revert your database schemas to the previous version. If you want to revert to the previous version of your database schema, you must restore the database schema with your database backup disk.

This procedure removes the Commerce Server 2009 R2 core components, registry keys, and binary files, except for the following folders:

  • Staging\Data

  • Staging\Projects

  • Staging\Events

  • Staging\Packages

If you installed the Commerce Server Staging service, you must manually delete these folders to remove them.

Note

Commerce Server 9.0 registry keys are not deleted after you uninstall Commerce Server 2009 R2. If you deployed the Solution Storefront, you must delete the registry keys. The keys are located in the registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/CommerceServer/9.0 Keys/StoreFront.

Uninstalling the Commerce Server runtime objects does not remove the Administration database or any other databases associated with your Web sites. You can move the data in your databases to the updated Commerce Server schema when you reinstall Commerce Server and use the Commerce Server Upgrade Wizard to migrate your data and schema.

To remove the Commerce Server run-time objects and administrative tools

  1. Click Start, click Control Panel, and under Programs, click Uninstall a program.

  2. In the list of installed programs, right-click Microsoft Commerce Server 2009 R2 Enterprise Platform Edition, and then click Uninstall/Change.

  3. On the Program Maintenance page of the Installation Wizard, select Remove, and then click Next.

  4. On the Summary page, click Uninstall.

    The Commerce Server Installation Wizard removes Commerce Server 2009 R2 components from the system.

  5. On the Uninstall Completed page, click Finish.

  6. After the components have been uninstalled, we recommend that you restart Windows.

Remove the Commerce Server Client Tools

Follow these steps to remove the Microsoft Commerce Server 2009 R2 client tools.

To remove the Commerce Server client tools

  1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.

  2. In Control Panel, under Programs, click Uninstall a program.

  3. On the Uninstall or change a program page, click Microsoft Commerce ServerClient Tools, and then click Uninstall.

  4. On the Program Maintenance page of the Commerce Server Installation Wizard, select Remove, and then click Next.

  5. On the Summary page, click Uninstall.

    The Installation Progress dialog box shows details of the removal operations.

  6. On the Uninstall Completed page, click Finish.
