Update Office Web Apps (Installed on SharePoint 2010 Products)

If you have to apply updates to applications in your Microsoft Office Web Apps environment, follow the steps presented in this article.

Available updates

The following update releases might be relevant to your Office Web Apps environment:

Applying the updates

The following table prescribes the order in which to install the updates, depending on your environment.

Environment Update Process

SharePoint Server 2010 and Office Web Apps running on a Server Farm

  1. Install these updates in the following order:

    1. Service Pack 1 for Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 (KB2460045) (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkId=232894)

    2. Service Pack 1 for Microsoft Office Web Apps 2010 (KB2460073) (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkId=232891)

    3. Description of the SharePoint Server 2010 cumulative update refresh package (SharePoint server-package): June 30, 2011 (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkId=232897)

    4. Description of the Office Web Apps hotfix package (wacwfe-x-none.msp): June 28, 2011 (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkId=232892)

    note Note:

  2. After you finish applying the updates, run the SharePoint 2010 Products Configuration Wizard. Or, at a command line, on every server in the farm, run:

    psconfig –cmd upgrade –inplace b2b -wait

  1. Install these updates in the following order:

    1. Service Pack 1 for Microsoft Project Server 2010 (KB2460047) (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkId=232899)

      note Note:

      This update includes SharePoint Server 2010 Service Pack 1 (SP1) and Project 2010 SP1.

    2. Service Pack 1 for Microsoft Office Web Apps 2010 (KB2460073) (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkId=232891)

    3. Description of the Project Server 2010 cumulative update refresh package (Project server-package): June 30, 2011 (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkId=228730)

    4. Description of the Office Web Apps hotfix package (wacwfe-x-none.msp): June 28, 2011 (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkId=232892)

    note Note:

    Optional update Description of the Office Web Apps hotfix package (wacproof-sv-se.msp): June 28, 2011 (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkId=232893) is necessary only if you have the Swedish language pack installed.

  2. After you finish applying the updates, run the SharePoint 2010 Products Configuration Wizard. Or, at a command line, on every server in the farm, run:

    psconfig –cmd upgrade –inplace b2b -wait

SharePoint Foundation 2010 and Office Web Apps

  1. Install these updates in the following order:

      Optional update Description of the Office Web Apps hotfix package (wacproof-sv-se.msp): June 28, 2011 (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkId=232893) is necessary only if you have the Swedish language pack installed.

  2. After you finish applying the updates, run the SharePoint 2010 Products Configuration Wizard. Or, at a command line, on every server in the farm, run:
