Microsoft System Center 2012 - Unified Installer Supported Configurations

In addition to the server on which you run System Center 2012 – Unified Installer, you need additional computers for the System Center components that you install. You need an additional computer for each component, except for Service Manager. For Service Manager you need two computers, one for the Service Manager management server and one for the data warehouse management server.

We recommend that you review the documentation that is available for the components that you install so that you can become familiar with their system requirements and planning considerations.

System Requirements for the Unified Installer

This topic describes the hardware and software requirements for the computer on which you will run Unified Installer.

Hardware Requirements

The following are the recommended hardware requirements for the Unified Installer target computers. These computers can be physical servers or virtual servers.

  • CPU: Dual-core 2.1 gigahertz (GHz)

  • RAM: 2 gigabytes (GB) minimum, 4 GB recommended

  • Disk space: 10 GB of free space

Software Requirements

The following are the software requirements for running Unified Installer:

  • One of the following versions of Windows operating systems:

    • Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1)

    • 64-bit edition of Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1

  • Internet Information Services (IIS)

  • Microsoft .NET Framework 3.51

  • Windows PowerShell 2.0

Microsoft .NET Framework 3.51 is installed as a feature in Service Manager. Adding .NET Framework 3.51 installs IIS. Windows PowerShell 2.0 is installed with Windows Server 2008 R2.
