Prerequisites

Ensure that you have one of the following ready.

  • Blank CDs or DVD

  • USB flash drive

    Important

The USB flash drive is formatted during this process.

Install the following software before using Configuration Manager P2V Migration Toolkit: Windows Automated Installation Kit (AIK) for Windows 7. Windows AIK for Windows 7 is used in the process of creating non-task sequence boot media.

Note

The Windows AIK is available on Microsoft Download Center.

Important

The process for installing the Windows AIK on your computer is as follows: download the .iso file, write the .iso file to a DVD using a third party tool, and then install the Windows AIK from the DVD media.

To create boot media for the Image Capture-only path

  1. Click Start, click All Programs, click Microsoft System Center, and then click P2V Migration Toolkit.

  3. Insert the media into the media drive. On the Select Media Type page, select the type of media that you want to use, specify the corresponding drive or disk by selecting it in the list, and then click Next.
