You send trial invitations to prospective customers to promote Microsoft Online Services such as Windows Intune. You create trial invitations and purchase offers with wizards that you access from the Partner overview page. You can then follow up by creating and sending purchase offers that are customized to fit the needs of your customer.
What do you want to do?
Create and send a trial invitation
The Create trial invitation wizard creates a URL that you can send in an email message or use in other documents. A trial invitation can contain an offer for only one trial subscription at a time. The subscription can contain one or more services, depending on the particular offer.
-
In the header, click Partner.
-
On the Partner overview page, click Send trial invitations.
-
In the Create trial invitation wizard, in the first step, select the options for the trial invitation.
-
Partner office: If your company has multiple offices, select the office that you want to associate with this trial invitation.
Note You can add partner office locations at the Microsoft Partner Network website. New office locations may require up to 24 hours after creation to appear in the Partner office list. -
Usage location: Select the location where your customer will use the services.
-
Trial subscriptions: The list of trial subscriptions that are available is determined by the usage location of your customer’s country or region.
-
Delegated administration: Select this option if you want to offer your customer delegated administration. If you offer your customer delegated administration, your customer can accept the trial invitation with or without acceptance of delegated administration.
-
Partner office: If your company has multiple offices, select the office that you want to associate with this trial invitation.
-
In the second step, you can click Open in email or copy and paste the URL manually to a message, document, or webpage.
Note -
Make a note of the Quote ID. You can use this ID to track the offer on the Microsoft Online Services Partner Commerce Dashboard.
-
When you click Open in email, if User Account Control (UAC) is enabled on your computer, a blank webpage may open in addition to the email message.
-
Make a note of the Quote ID. You can use this ID to track the offer on the Microsoft Online Services Partner Commerce Dashboard.
-
You can personalize the message by including a company logo, introduction, closing remarks, or other information.
-
Send the message to your customer.
Create and send a purchase offer
When you create a purchase offer, it can contain one or more subscriptions. That is, you can bundle multiple subscriptions into a single purchase offer. You are the partner that is automatically associated with the offer. If your customer accepts the offer, you are associated with your customer’s purchase.
-
In the header, click Partner.
-
On the Partner overview page, click Create purchase offers.
-
In the Create purchase offer wizard, select the options in the first step.
-

When customizing your message, consider the following:
-
Identify yourself as an authorized Microsoft partner.
-
Let customers know that they will be billed directly by Microsoft.
-
Tell customers how they can contact you with questions about the service or the offer.
-
Your customers control the number of user licenses purchased. They can change the number of licenses when they accept the offer.
-
If you offer delegated administration, explain what it means, and what your responsibilities are.
