Issue
FIMService – Forefront Identity Manager service is not running on the remote server.
Impact
FIMService – Forefront Identity Manager service scan cannot be run on the target machine.
Resolution
FIMService – Start Forefront Identity Manager service on the remote machine before starting a scan.
To resolve this issue, ensure that the FIM Service is started and running.
To ensure that the FIM Service is running, use the following procedure:
To ensure that the FIM Service is running
On the server that has FIM 2010 R2 Service installed, click Start, select Administrative Tools, and select Services. This will bring up Services.
On the Services screen, scroll down to Forefront Identity Manager Service.
Right-click, Forefront Identity Manager Service and select Start. This will start the service.
Once the service has started, close Services.
