Understanding Management Agent Rules

Management agents can contain several types of rules. These rules determine how to process objects and their attributes when the management agent is run. By using Management Agent Designer, you can define these rules when you create the management agent, or you can edit these rules in an existing management agent. You can also define management agent rules by writing a rules extension.

Each time you run a management agent, Microsoft® Forefront Identity Manager (FIM) 2010 R2 applies the rules for that management agent.

The following flow chart shows the sequence in which management agent rules are applied.
