This topic describes how to deploy SharePoint web applications via Forefront Unified Access Gateway (UAG) in a topology in which user authentication is provided by Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS) 2.0 using claims-based authentication to the SharePoint server.

To publish SharePoint applications for partner employees

  1. Configure your SharePoint web application to use SAML security tokens. See Configure authentication using a SAML security token (SharePoint Server 2010).

  2. Configure Forefront UAG to use claims-based authentication. See Configuring an AD FS 2.0 authentication repository.

  3. Publish your SharePoint web application through Forefront UAG according to your organization requirements.
