Workflow Manager Client 1.0 and Workflow Manager Tools 1.0 for Visual Studio 2012 contain core assemblies, activities, and client APIs used to develop and run Workflow Manager 1.0 applications. This topic provides installation instructions for Workflow Manager Client and Workflow Manager Tools.

Workflow Manager Client 1.0 installation

Workflow Manager Client 1.0 contains core assemblies including activities and client APIs for Workflow Manager 1.0 and Workflow Manager Tools 1.0 for Visual Studio 2012. Workflow Manager Client must be installed on machines that run Workflow Manager client applications, and on machines that are used to develop Workflow Manager applications.

Note

Workflow Manager Client 1.0 is installed as part of the Workflow Manager 1.0 setup. If Workflow Manager applications are developed or run on a machine where Workflow Manager is installed, then Workflow Manager Client does not need to be re-installed.

To install Workflow Manager Client 1.0

Workflow Manager Client 1.0 is installed using the Web Platform Installer. Click the following link to install Workflow Manager Client.

To uninstall Workflow Manager Client 1.0

Open Control Panel and select Programs and Features. Right-click Workflow Manager Client 1.0 and choose Uninstall.

Workflow Manager Tools 1.0 for Visual Studio 2012 installation

Workflow Manager Tools 1.0 for Visual Studio 2012 supports the SharePoint Tools for Visual Studio and includes activity designers, debugging support, and expression translation for developers authoring workflows for Workflow Manager. Prerequisites

  • Workflow Manager Client 1.0. To install Workflow Manager Client, follow the instructions in the preceding section: To install Workflow Manager Client 1.0.

  • Visual Studio 2012

To install Workflow Manager Tools 1.0

  1. Workflow Manager Tools is installed using the Web Platform Installer. Click the following link to run the Workflow Manager Tools installation.

      When the installation completes, the Workflow Manager Tools binaries are deployed to the following folder, depending on whether the operating system is 32-bit or 64-bit.

      • x86: C:\Program Files (x86)\Workflow Manager Tools\1.0

      • x64: C:\Program Files\Workflow Manager Tools\1.0

  2. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the Workflow Manager Tools folder.

  3. Run Microsoft.Workflow.VisualStudio.Configurator.exe as Administrator.

To uninstall Workflow Manager Tools

Open Control Panel and select Programs and Features. Right-click Workflow Manager Tools 1.0 for Visual Studio 2012 and choose Uninstall.
