Customizing the Windows Intune Company Portal

Updated: November 1, 2013

Applies To: Windows Intune

Some display elements in the Windows Intune company portal can be customized to display your company specific information and internal privacy statement, your user support information, and the appearance of the company portal.

ImportantImportant
If you are using the System Center Configuration Manager console to manage your computers, any changes that you make to the contact and customization fields below using the Configuration Manager console, even just one field, will override any and all contact and customization settings configured in the Windows Intune administrator console. If your environment uses Windows Intune with Configuration Manager, it is recommended to use the Configuration Manager console for all administrator tasks.

noteNote
Except where noted, the term company portal in this topic refers to both the company portal app and the company portal website.

  1. Open the Windows Intune administrator console.

  2. In the workspace shortcuts pane, click Administration, and then click Company Portal.

  3. In Specify company name, company contact information and privacy statement, configure the following optional fields:

    • Company name: This is the name that will be displayed as the title of the company portal. This field is limited to 40 characters.

      noteNote
Changes to the Company name will not be reflected in the company portal until the user logs out and logs back in to Windows Intune, or closes and then reopens their browser session.

    • IT department contact name: This contact name will display on the Contact IT page. This field is limited to 40 characters.

    • IT department phone number: This contact number will display on the Contact IT page. This field is limited to 20 characters.

    • IT department email address: This contact address will display on the Contact IT page. This field must be formatted as a valid email address, alias@domainname.com, and is limited to 40 characters.

    • Additional information: This additional information will display on the Contact IT page. This field is limited to 120 characters.

    • Company privacy statement URL: You can specify your own company privacy statement that will display when users click the privacy links from the company portal. You must enter a valid URL in the format https://www.contoso.com.

      ImportantImportant
Microsoft strongly recommends using secure http (https://) for all URLs that you configure.

  4. In Specify a website that users can contact for support, configure the following optional fields:

    • Support website URL: If you have a support website that you want end users to use, specify the URL here. This must be in the format https://www.contoso.com. This field is limited to 150 characters.

      ImportantImportant
Microsoft strongly recommends using secure http (https://) for all URLs that you configure.

    • Website name: This is the friendly name of the support website, and this name will display on the Contact IT page. This field is limited to 40 characters.

      noteNote
      • If you do not specify a URL, nothing will be displayed on the Contact IT page in the company portal.

      • If you only specify a URL and no friendly name, “Go to IT website” will be displayed on the Contact IT page in the company portal.

      • If you specify both a URL and a friendly name, the friendly name will display on the Contact IT page in the company portal.

  5. In Customization, configure the following optional fields:

    • Theme color: Select an available theme color. This color will be applied to all the company portals.

      ImportantImportant
Selecting a lighter theme color may make white text more difficult to read.

    • Include company logo: Select this option to upload custom company logos to your company portal.

      ImportantImportant
You can upload two logos – one that will display when the company portal background is white, and one that will display when the company portal background is using your selected Theme color.

      1. Click Browse to select your company logo. The logo must meet the following requirements:

        • Must be a .PNG or .JPG file type

        • Have a maximum resolution of 400 X 100

        • Must be 750KB or less

      2. If the logo meets the requirements, the logo will display. Otherwise, a descriptive error message will display.

      3. To display your company name next to the logo, leave Show the company name next to the company logo enabled.

    • Choose a background for Windows 8 Company Portal app: This setting affects the background for the Windows 8 company portal app only. Select the default background, or disable the default background to display a solid white background.

  6. Click Save to save your changes, upload your logo, if applicable, and exit.

    noteNote
The URLs for the company portal and the mobile company portal are configured automatically and cannot be changed.
