Create a Windows Intune Computer Inventory Report

Updated: October 1, 2013

Applies To: Windows Intune

By using Windows Intune, you can generate a report that lists a customized view of the computers in your organization. You can print the report, export the report, and open the report in Excel.

ImportantImportant
To ensure that you can view reports in the Windows Intune administrator console, you must configure web browser pop-up blockers to allow pop-up windows from Windows Intune. If you do not do this, you may be unable to view reports or complete other tasks in the Windows Intune administrator console. For information about other tasks that require Windows Intune pop-up windows to be allowed, see Release Notes for Windows Intune.

The Computer Inventory Report provides the following details in the report:

  • Type – An icon indicates whether this is a physical or virtual computer.

  • Name - The name of the inventoried computer.

  • Chassis Type – The chassis type of the inventoried computer.

  • Manufacturer - The hardware manufacturer of the inventoried computer.

  • Model - The model of the inventoried computer.

  • Operating System - The operating system of the inventoried computer.

  • TPM Version - The Trusted Platform Module (TPM) version.

  • Total Disk Space - The total hard drive disk space of the inventoried computer.

  • Used Disk Space - The total used hard drive disk space of the inventoried computer.

  • Free Disk Space - The total free hard drive disk space of the inventoried computer.

  • Physical Memory - The total physical memory (i.e. RAM) of the inventoried computer.

  • CPU Speed - The processor speed of the inventoried computer.

  • Serial number - The serial number of the inventoried computer.

  • Last User to Log On - The last user who logged on to the inventoried computer. If all users are logged on to a terminal service session, then Unknown is displayed.

  • Last Hardware Status - The time and date when the last hardware inventory status was reported for the inventoried computer.

noteNote
In this version of Windows Intune, serial numbers for some NEC and Lenovo computers, and Surface tablets, will not display under the Hardware tab for that device. To view the serial number, use the Windows Intune administrator console or create a Hardware report.

      • Other. Chassis types that are not included in this list. For more information, see the Computer Inventory Reports in Windows Intune Reference.

      • Unknown. This type includes computers that have not reported the chassis type because of a missing property or other client-related issue.

    • Select available disk space. Click either of the following:

      • By percentage. In the list, select the percentage of disk space or less available on managed devices to include in the report.

      • By specific value. Specify a value in gigabytes (GB) or less available on managed devices to include in the report.
