Remote Tasks Error Codes

The following table lists common errors that may occur when you run a remote task from the Windows Intune administrator console, likely causes, and possible solutions to help you troubleshoot them.

The task was canceled on the client computer by a local administrator. |
Instruct the local administrator of the client computer to avoid canceling the task, and then run the task again. |

A pending restart computer task is already running on the client computer. |
Wait for the pending restart computer task to be completed. |

0xA1CE0065 |
A duplicate remote task is already queued or running on the client computer. |
Wait for the first remote task to be completed before running another task on the client computer. |

The Remote Task Execution Engine could not be initialized. |
Remove any older versions of the Windows Intune client software from the computer, and then retry the client software installation. For instructions, see Retiring a Device by Using the Windows Intune Administrator Console. |

The remote task was not completed, likely because the client computer was shut down while the task was running. |

Remote wipe task was initiated on a device that no longer exists in Exchange. This can occur if a device has been retired using a tool other than the Windows Intune administrator console or the Windows Intune company portal. |

Unknown Exchange error. |
