This document discusses one of the methodologies that independent software vendors (ISVs) can use to create the installation experience for their customers. There are typically three types of components that need to be installed as part of an ISV solution installation:

  • Model files

  • External managed code solution (binary files)

  • Help content Microsoft Installer (MSI) file
