Managing Service Changes and Expansion

Applies to: Office 365 Dedicated Plans

Topic Last Modified: 2012-11-23

Your Office 365 deployment project is designed around the number and type of users in your organization and the service features that you select. When user growth greater than 5 percent is predicted, or if additional Office 365 dedicated plan service features are required, you should notify the Microsoft sales representative or the Service Delivery Manager. Contract updates are required for additional licenses, for additional storage, and to activate additional features of Office 365 dedicated plan services. You are encouraged to notify Microsoft of your requirements well in advance, because provisioning additional capacity or new features requires time to execute.

In the event you are integrating an organizational merger or acquisition into your Office 365 services, several configuration and migration choices must be reviewed together by you and Microsoft in order to determine the optimal approach. Mergers and acquisitions are treated as standalone deployment projects, with detailed discovery and onboard planning and execution phases. This is so that all required changes can be planned for, along with enhancements to the infrastructure to meet the new capacity requirements.
