Configure Business Analyzer

After you install or update Business Analyzer for Microsoft Dynamics, you must configure the application to display your Microsoft Dynamics reports.

Connect to the report server or document library where you deployed your Microsoft Dynamics reports

You must specify the location of your Microsoft Dynamics reports. Your reports might be deployed to a document library, a report server, or to a specific folder on a report server.

  1. Open Business Analyzer.

  2. Display the Charms bar.

With touch, swipe in from the right edge of your screen.

With a mouse, move your pointer to the upper-right or lower-right corner.

  3. Tap or click Settings, and then tap or click Configuration.

  4. Turn the Sample Report Mode setting off and select the Report Server Mode.

  5. If the report server mode is Native, enter the URL for the report server where your Microsoft Dynamics reports are deployed. If your reports are deployed to a specific folder on your report server, enter the name of the folder in the Folder field.

    Warning

For Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2, do not enter a folder name. Only enter the URL for your report server.

If the report server mode is SharePoint Integrated, enter the document library location where your Microsoft Dynamics reports are deployed.

  6. Enter your credentials and domain name for the domain that your report server is joined to.

  7. To automatically refresh your reports when you start the application, turn on the Auto refresh reports when I launch the application setting.

  8. Tap or click Connect.

Select reports to display

After you specify the location of your reports, you must select the reports to display on your Business Analyzer home screen. You can use two commands to select reports:

  • Add Reports by Role

Quickly add all of the default reports for a specific role to your home screen.

  • Select Reports

Select individual reports to add to your home screen. If your reports are organized by folder, tap or click a folder to view a list of the reports within it.

These commands are displayed after you connect to a report server or to the document library for the first time. To access these app commands any time after initial connection, do one of the following:

  • With touch, swipe from the bottom edge or down from the top edge of the screen, and then tap the command that you want.

  • With a mouse, right-click within the application, and then click the command that you want.
