PID Property
This feature will be removed in a future version of Microsoft SQL Server. Avoid using this feature in new development work, and plan to modify applications that currently use this feature.
The PID property retrieves the Microsoft SQL Server process identification.

Remarks
An application uses the PID property to determine the process identification of a specific instance of SQL Server.
Note
If an application calls PID on an instance of SQL Server version 7.0, zero is returned.
