Remarks

Notification Services uses the NotificationClassName value when creating tables and views. Therefore, the name of each notification class must conform to SQL Server identifier naming conventions. The name also must be unique within the application. For more information about SQL Server identifier naming conventions, see Identifiers.

If you update the NotificationClassName element, updating the application deletes and re-creates the notification class to which it corresponds. This includes dropping and re-creating the SQL Server tables used by this notification class. Any data existing in the original SQL Server tables is permanently deleted.

Example

The following example shows how to specify a name for a notification class.
