How to: Install SQL Server Replication Components

This topic describes how to install the Microsoft SQL Server 2008 or SQL Server 2005 Replication Components on the computer that is running Internet Information Services (IIS). If your instance of IIS is on a different server than your SQL Server Publisher, you must install the SQL Server Replication Components on the computer that is running IIS. For information about 64-bit replication components, see Managing 64-bit Database Applications.

To install SQL Server Replication Components

  1. On the computer that is running IIS, insert the SQL Server 2008 or SQL Server 2005 CD and run Setup.exe.

  2. In the SQL Server Installation Wizard, on the Components to Install page, click Advanced.

  3. On the Feature Selection page, click Client Components, and then click Connectivity Components to install the SQL Server 2008 replication components
