Compares two expressions. When you compare nonnull expressions by using this operator, the result is TRUE when the left operand has a value lower than the right operand. Otherwise, the result is FALSE.

Any valid expression in Microsoft SQL Server Compact. Both expressions must have implicitly convertible data types. The conversion depends on the rules of data type precedence.

The following example uses the less than comparison operator to find all orders in the Order Details table with quantities fewer than 10 units.

SELECT * FROM "Order Details" WHERE Quantity < '10'
