Granting Local Administrative Rights

Only members of the Administrators local group have permission to start, stop, and configure Microsoft Windows services. To grant users who are responsible for managing an complete instance of Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services (SSAS) the right to manage the Windows services that an instance of Analysis Services requires, these users have to be members of the Administrators local group.

To ease administration, consider creating a Windows global group within the domain, add these users to that global group, and then add this global group to the local Administrators group on each instance of Analysis Services.
