Data Exploration Options Dialog Box (SSAS)

SQL Server 2005

Use the Data Exploration Options dialog box in Business Intelligence Development Studio to set the sampling and charting options for the Explore Data dialog box. You can display the Data Exploration Options dialog box by clicking Sampling options in the Explore Data dialog box.

Term Definition

Top count

Select to retrieve the topmost number of rows specified in Sample count as sample data.

Random sample

Select to randomly sample and retrieve the number of rows specified in Sample count as sample data.

Sample count

Select the number of rows to return as sample data.

States per chart

Select the number of discrete states to display in the Chart tab of the Explore Data dialog box.
