How to: Change Table, View and Column Names in a Data Source View using Data Source View Designer (Analysis Services)

To change the FriendlyName value for a table, in Data Source View Designer, in the Tables or Diagram pane, click the table, and then in the Properties window, edit the FriendlyName property.

In Data Source View Designer, you can choose to display either the data source names or the friendly names of objects. To display friendly names for the objects, right-click the background of the Diagram pane, and then click Show Friendly Names. You can also click Show Friendly Names on the Data Source View menu.

NoteNote

To change the name of a named query or a named calculation, edit the Name property in the Properties window.

TipTip
