SQL Server Combined Help Collection Manager

The documentation in SQL Server Help is organized into collections. Help collections can be included in the combined Help collection on your computer. If you have installed multiple Help collections, you might be able to change which collections are included in the combined Help collection. The names of Help collections that are installed on your computer are listed at the end of this topic.

To modify the combined Help collection

  1. In the Available Help Collections checklist later in this topic, select the check boxes for the collections to be included in the combined Help collection, and clear those to be excluded.

    Security noteSecurity Note

Help collections have the potential to load inappropriate code from malicious users. Only include Help collections from trusted sources.

    Warning

Changes to the combined Help collection change the Contents, Search, and Index. Therefore, excluding Help collections might block your access to documentation that you require. Consider using filters to focus on Help topics related to your needs instead of removing a collection that you might need.

Note that the Available Help Collections checklist is available only in this topic.

  2. Click Update Combined Help Collection. The next time that you open Help, the combined Help collection will include the Help collections that you selected and exclude those that you cleared.

    Note

While the Help collection is updated, SQL Server Books Online or SQL Server Management Studio might take several minutes to reopen.
