How to Install Active Directory and DNS

For the latest version of Commerce Server 2007 Help, see the Microsoft Web site.

The Active Directory Installation Wizard helps simplify the process of configuring a domain controller that is running on Windows Server 2003. You do not have to install Domain Name System (DNS) as a separate step because the Active Directory Installation Wizard installs it as part of its operation. This is not true for additional domain controllers.

For information about how to install Active Directory and DNS on Windows Server 2003, see "Using the Active Directory Installation Wizard" in Windows Server 2003 Help.

For information about how to install Active Directory and DNS on Windows Server 2008, see "Step-by-Step Guide for Windows Server 2008 Active Directory Domain Services Installation and Removal" in Windows Server 2008 Help.
