Understanding and using Server Folders for centralized storage

Windows Home Server 2011 enables you to store your files that are located on your client computers to a central location using Server Folders. Storing your files in Server Folders ensure that your files are in a place that is always accessible in a secure manner from each client. Using the Server Folders to store files provides you the following advantages:

It can be backed up using Server Backup and Restore to protect against total server failure.

Once stored on a Server Folder, it can also be access remotely via the Remote Web Access.

It can be easily searched from any client computer.
The following table lists the Server Folders that are created by default when you install Windows Home Server 2011.

| Documents | Used to store and access documents. |
| Music | Used to store and access music |
| Pictures | Used to store and access digital photos. |
