View alerts using the Alert Viewer
Updated: March 30, 2011
Applies To: Windows Home Server 2011
The server monitors the health of computers that are connected to it and generates an alert for issues it finds. For any computer that is connected to the server, you can open the Alert Viewer from the Launchpad to view alerts for that computer. Alerts that appear on the Launchpad provide a quick status as to the immediate health of the computer. By default, the alerts in the Alert Viewer are refreshed every thirty minutes. You can evaluate your computer for alerts at any time by clicking Refresh in the Alert Viewer. For more information about computer alerts, see Understanding alerts.
To open the Alert Viewer from the Launchpad
From a computer that is connected to the server, open the Launchpad.
Note If asked, log on to the Launchpad with your user name and password.
Click any of the displayed alert icons (critical, warning, and informational) at the bottom of the Launchpad to open the Alert Viewer, and then follow the instructions in the details pane of the Alert Viewer to resolve the alert.
