Configuring Monitoring Server Settings

You can configure Monitoring Server settings for call detail records (CDRs) and Quality of Experience (QoE) by using the Microsoft Lync Server 2010 Control Panel or Lync Server Management Shell cmdlets.

Configuring Monitoring Server Settings by Using the Lync Server 2010 Control Panel

You can use the following procedures to configure Monitoring Server in the Lync Server 2010 Control Panel.

To configure Monitoring Server using the Lync Server 2010 Control Panel

  1. Using a user account that is a member of the RTCUniversalServerAdmins group (or has equivalent user rights), or is assigned to the CSServerAdministrator or CSAdministrator role, log on to any computer that is in the network in which you deployed Lync Server 2010.

  2. Open a browser window, and then enter the Admin URL to open the Lync Server Control Panel.

  3. Click Monitoring and Archiving and then do the following:

    • Click Call Detail Recording, enable or disable call detail recording, and then configure call detail recording purging settings as needed.

    • Click Quality of Experience Data, enable or disable QoE, and then configure QoE purging settings as needed.

Configuring Monitoring Server Settings by Using Lync Server Management Shell

You can use the following cmdlets to configure Monitoring Server:

  • To configure CDR settings, use New-, Set-, Get- and Remove-CsCdrConfiguration.

  • To configure the QoE settings, use New-, Set-, Get- and Remove-CsQoEConfiguration.
